By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, Dec 13: The district and sessions judge Nawabshah rejected the bail applications of suspended SP and former in-charge of the Lyari Task Force, Chaudhry Aslam Khan and two others in the Rasool Bux Brohi murder case on Wednesday. The hearing of Rasool Bux Brohi murder case was held at the session court and all the 15 accused were brought to the court amidst tight security.

Chaudhry Aslam and DSP Irfan Bahadur reached the court in a private car which had no number plate and were presented without handcuffs.

The district and sessions judge Nawabshah, Ghulam Qadir Leghari, rejected the bail applications of the suspended police officials including SP Chaudhry Aslam Khan, DSP Irfan Bahadur and Inspector Syed Safdar Shah.

Siddiq Brohi, the main witness in the case, recorded his statement before the district and sessions judge and said that “he was neither arrested by the Lyari Task Force nor was he aware of murder of Rasool Bux Brohi.”

He further said that he recorded his previous statement in the court of judicial magistrate, Sakrand, due to pressure of theInvestigation police. When the court asked Siddiq Brohi whether Rasool Bux alias Noor Ahmed Nooral was called Mashooq Brohi, he replied in negative.

When further asked with whom would he like to go, he said that he would prefer to go with his advocate, Zafar Alam. The hearing was adjourned till January 6, 2007.

Hanif Brohi, son of Siddiq Brohi, alleged that his father was forced to change his statement. He claimed that his father was being administered seductive drugs and “was not in his senses”.
