KARACHI: Robbers kill two guards, take away Rs2.4 million

KARACHI, Dec 13: Armed men shot dead two security guards and took away Rs2.4 million outside Saima Trade Towers on Wednesday night. Police said a Hi-roof (CR-3356) carrying two security guards, Murad and Tahir, cashier Abdul Salam and driver were coming from the Sarafa Bazaar carrying Rs2.4 million. As they were about to enter Saima Trade Towers, two armed men opened fire killing the two guards. They collected the cash and ran on foot before boarding a getaway car.

City police Chief Tariq Jamil said the money belonged to the gold importers association whose office is located in the building. He said the guards were untrained which is why the incident happened.
