Mukharjee due on Jan 13

NEW DELHI, Dec 12: Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukharjee will arrive here on Jan 13 to attend the bilateral foreign ministers’ talks.

He would discuss with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Kasuri an eight-point agenda, including the Kashmir issue, and review progress on confidence-building measures between the two countries.

Mr Mukharjee is expected to formally invite President Gen Pervez Musharraf for the 14th Saarc summit, scheduled to commence from April 3 in India.

The Indian FM is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

India’s Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon will visit Pakistan in February to discuss with his Pakistani counterpart Riaz Mohammad Khan the talks’ agenda and devise a schedule for the forth-round of talks.—Online
