MIRPURKHAS, Dec 10: The Town police registered a case against unidentified people late on Saturday night for kidnapping the son of an industrialist.

According to family sources, the kidnappers have demanded Rs20 million as ransom through a telephone call made at the factory phone numbers of the industrialists from Karachi.

The police swung into action and picked up two young boys reported to be sons of government functionaries on the intervention of the Sindh chief minister and speaker of the Sindh Assembly.

The Sindh police chief also directed the Mirpurkhas and Karachi police for quick recovery of Abdul Sami 16, son of an industrialist Abdul Sattar. The investigation police of Mirpurkhas, in collaboration with the CPLC, picked up two youths, identified as Arshad and Imran, for interrogation.

According to police sources, the arrested youths had given some vital clues about the kidnappers.
