Saudi Arabia retain long jump title

DOHA, Dec 9: Saudi Arabia's Hussain Taher Al Saba successfully defended his men's long jump title at the Asian Games on Saturday.

The 27-year-old, who is coached by world record holder Mike Powell, posted a best leap of 8.02 metres to take the gold with Kuwait's Saleh Al-Hadad second and another Saudi athlete, Ahmed Faez bin Marzouq, taking the bronze.

Al-Saba has been out of action for the past two years after serving a ban for failing a drugs test which saw him miss the Olympics in Athens.—AFP
