KARACHI, Dec 9: Seventy-five people were deprived of their cars, motorbikes, or cellular phones in various localities here on Saturday.
Police sources said that 16 vehicles – eight cars and an equal number of motorcycles – were either hijacked or stolen in the city.
Two cars and two motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint and six cars and an equal number of motorbikes were stolen.
They said that 59 people were robbed of their cellular phones. Twenty people reported that they were intercepted by bandits at gunpoint in various areas, who looted them of their mobile phones, cash and belongings. Thirty-nine people reported that their cellular phones were stolen.
KILLED: The bodies of a man and a small boy were found in various localities here on Saturday.
The body of three-year-old Faizan was found in an isolated place in Orangi Town, Sector 11 ½. Faizan was believed to have been kidnapped by unknown people, who hit him in the head with a blunt weapon. After the boy had died, his body was thrown into an isolated place. Police could not find traces of the killers or the motive of the killing.
In another incident, the body of a man, in his mid-twenties, was found in a desolate place in the Gadap police limits. The man was believed to have been kidnapped, shot dead and the body was dumped later. Police shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy and trying to ascertain the motive for the murder and find clues to culprits.
ACCIDENTS: A three-year-old girl, Aisha Bibi, died after she was hit by a water tanker in Manzoor Colony near her residence. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy. Police impounded the tanker and arrested the driver, Abdul Rahim.
In other road traffic accidents, Pir Mohammad died in a head-on-collision between a van and a pick-up in the Shah Latif police limits and an unidentified man, in his mid-thirties, died in a hit-and-run accident in the airport police limits.
