LONDON, Dec 8: Questioning President Gen Pervez Musharraf’s right to take unilateral decisions on the Kashmir issue, the PML-N has severely criticised him for offering, in a recent interview to an Indian TV channel, to withdraw Pakistan’s just claim on the disputed territory of Kashmir.

In a resolution passed by the party at its International Secretariat here on Friday, the PML-N termed Gen Musharraf’s offer a proposal by an individual who did not represent the national sentiment.

In a second resolution passed unanimously on the fifth day of its electoral strategy meetings, the PML-N called upon all patriotic forces within the country to reject Gen Musharraf’s Kashmir proposal.

The resolution while questioning the justification of continuing with the lavish expenditure on the army now that Gen Musharraf had taken a U-turn on the Kashmir issue wondered if sacrifices which the nation had rendered all these years to provide the army with the wherewithal to defend Pakistan’s claim on the disputed territory had gone waste.

The resolution also noted that Gen Musharraf was just an individual and a usurper who did not represent the nation.

The resolution further stated that the unconstitutional regime currently ruling Pakistan did not have the authority to take fundamental decisions on the nation’s disputes with other countries.

Those who attended the meeting and voted on the resolution included PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, Secretary-General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Additional Secretary-General Chaudhry Jaffer Iqbal, Senior Vice-President Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the PML-N in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Punjab PML-N President Sardar Zulfikar Khosa, Sindh PML-N President Syed Ghaus Ali Shah, Punjab PML-N Secretary-General Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, PML-N parliamentary party leader in the Punjab Assembly Rana Sanaullah, MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq, MNA Tehmina Daultana and Ghulam Dastigir Khan.
