CHARSADDA, Dec 8: The provincial government has provided 400 kanals of land for the establishment of a cadet college here.

District Nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan said this while addressing the District Council session here on Thursday. He said the construction of the cadet college, which had been promised by President Pervez Musharraf, would start soon.

He said the president had recently approved the setting up of the cadet college, subject to the availability of land that was to be provided by the district or the provincial government.

He said the provincial government had provided land under the control of the irrigation department — situated in the Deri Zardad area and on the Nowshera road — for the purpose.

The provincial government had also provided Rs2 million for building a road. The special cell in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat would spend Rs40 million on the construction of the cadet college.

He added that President Musharraf might inaugurate the Munda Dam in January.
