KARACHI, Dec 8: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has said the city government is preparing a separate master plan for the coastal belt, including Hawksbay and other beaches, so that future development should be undertaken in an organised manner.

He said this during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, headed by Managing Director Riaz Hussain Khan, at his office on Friday.

The nazim told the delegation that the separate master plan for coastal belt was aimed at developing beaches and attracting tourists to visit coastal areas.The delegation informed the nazim that the corporation had already started the construction work of a 14-room hotel at Hawksbay to facilitate tourists.

Mr Kamal assured the corporation that the city government would extend full cooperation. He said an anti-encroachment operation had already been started to vacate the government land.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Afzal Motors Private Ltd. (Daewoo), led by its Managing Director Ayub Khan, called on the city nazim.

The delegation told the nazim that their company was interested in running CNG buses in the metropolis. In this regard, they said, the company had set up a CNG buses manufacturing plant in the city, which would be inaugurated this month. The company also planned to establish a driving institute. He also invited the nazim to visit Seoul to inspect the company’s head office.

Mr Kamal said the government had decided to attract investors in transport sector by offering them various incentives to improve the transport system. He underlined the need of bringing 8,000 CNG buses to meet citizens requirement.

He appreciated the establishment of CNG buses manufacturing plant in the city and assured the delegation of his maximum cooperation in this regard.
