R&D support

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 7: The State Bank of Pakistan has allowed the facility of six per cent R&D support to readymade textile garments units operating from the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) effective from April 2006.

The government had allowed the Research and Development support on export of garments from June 2005 and readymade garments were also included in the list to avail the facility.

A circular issued by the SBP on Thursday said the ministry of commerce had clarified that the facility for the textile units would be available with retrospectively effect from April 14, 2006 as per rules and regulations.

They were advised to adjust the claims if entertained prior to April 14, 2006, said the SBP release.
