KARACHI, Dec 6: Abdul Rehman whipped Nameer Shamsi in straight sets to capture boys U-13 singles title of the STA development tennis series at CDGK sports complex on Wednesday.

Rehman won the battle 6-0, 6-3. However, playing his second successive match he went down to Omer Shahid in three gruelling sets in boys U-15 semi-final.

Omer, a former Sindh No. 1 in boys U-13 last year struggled hard to win 6-7, 6-3, 7-6.

Hyderabad’s Abdul Majeed prevailed 6-1, 6-2 over Arif Irfanullah to made it to the men’s singles final where he meets the winner of Nasir Mushtaq – Danish Ahmed.

The former won the opener 6-1 and tied at 3-3 with his opponent in the second set when the match was stopped due to bad light. It will be completed on Thursday.

Similarly, Domichi was 1-0 up against Anam Saeed in the ladies singles encounter when poor visibility prevented the two players to complete their match.
