SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 6: Scores of people blocked traffic for two hours on Lahore Road near Mandiali stop in protest against a road accident here on Wednesday.

Reports said a speeding wagon ran over two brothers Irfan and Zeeshan while they were crossing the road. As a result of which the former was killed on the spot while the latter suffered critical injuries.

The injured was rushed to hospital. Later, a number of residents gathered on main road and blocked Lahore-Sheikhupura traffic.

Sheikhupura and factory area police reached the spot and got restored traffic after negotiations with protesters.

The police have arrested wagon driver Nisar and impounded the vehicle.

SUSPENDED: Naib tehsildar Salim Raza was suspended from service for corruption here on Wednesday. He was found guilty in an inquiry.
