VEHARI, Dec 6: A man died and dozens, among children, were hospitalized on Wednesday in Vehari district because of cold-related diseases after a cold-wave gripped the area.

Rashid from 9-11/WB, a laborer at the Grain Market, was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after he felt cold but he died there before getting any treatment.

Many people are suffering from cold-related diseases, including flue, chest infection, fever, cough and pneumonia.

Several public and private hospitals confirmed that patients with cold-related diseases had increased after the recent cold wave. District Headquarters Hospital’s official Dr Maqsood Chaudhry advised the people to wear warm clothes, especially children to stay in their homes in morning and evening times.
