No change in position on Kashmir: FO

ISLAMABAD, Dec 6: The Foreign Office has stated that the country’s position on Kashmir remains unchanged.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam on Wednesday termed ‘misleading’ the headlines in the media regarding President Pervez Musharraf’s recent interview to NDTV.

Referring to the interview, the spokesperson clarified: “There is no change in Pakistan’s position on Kashmir. The president has only reiterated the well-known view that in step with India, Pakistan is willing to be flexible in pursuit of an acceptable negotiated settlement.”

She said that the president had again mentioned the ideas that had been discussed in the past and which evoked keen interest among Kashmiri people.—Q.A.
