HYDERABAD, Dec 6: Consul General of Germany Hans Joachim Kiderlen has said that Hyderabad makes an attractive tourist destination due to its rich historical background and can pull tourists in huge numbers.

In a meeting with District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil at Circuit House on Tuesday he advised to make available proper facilities for tourists to promote the industry and said the city also afforded the fittest place for investment due to its peaceful atmosphere, geographical location and cheap labour.

He said that his country and Pakistan had always enjoyed good relations, which were strengthened under the present regime. Hyderabad was not only a historical city, but it was also a fast developing metropolis, he said.

The city’s bangles were very famous in many countries of the world especially Asian countries and its historical monuments had made it known throughout the world but sheer neglect had made it look shabby, he said, adding that the archaeology department needed to become hyperactive.

District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil told the guest that the district was establishing a central library in the city with a separate corner for providing complete information about the German culture, trade and industry.

He briefed him about the ongoing development works in the city especially the purification of drinking water system and crops.

The consul general later paid a visit to Sindh Museum, Mukhi House, Pakka Qilla and the tombs of Mirs.

DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed, District Naib Nazim Zafar Rajput, MPAs Aslam Pervez Advocate, Ms Farhana Saeed, Naeem Ishtiaque, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present in the meeting.
