KARACHI: Flyover to be ready in 20 days

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 6: The Hassan Square flyover would be completed in the next 20 days.

This was stated by Tameer-i-Karachi Programme Project Director Akhtar Farooqui while briefing City Nazim Mustafa Kamal on his visit to the under construction flyover on Wednesday.

He informed the nazim that work on Hasan Square flyover, which cost around Rs535 million, was in full swing and heading for completion before stipulated time. The project, which was a part of the first signal-free corridor from SITE to the airport, was started on June 10 this year. Though the project had 18 to 24 months for completion, the flyover would be completed and opened for traffic this month.

The nazim directed the concerned officials that storm water drainage arrangements must be completed during the construction of flyover and other ongoing development projects. He said the city government would not compromise on the quality of work. He inspected various parts of the flyover and directed engineers and representative of the consultant firm to speed up the work and increase the number of labourers especially during night for early completion of the project.
