Contract for 50,000 tons urea finalized

KARACHI, Dec 6: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has finalised the award of contract for supply of 50,000 tons of urea from international sources at a rate of $ 270 per ton carriage and freight.

According to a TCP official, the bidders had quoted a price ranging between $ 275.80 and 298.85 per tons against the international tender for purchase of 50,000 tons of urea to cater to domestic demand.

The official said that the price evaluation committee of the TCP considered bids and after taking into account f.o.b prices (ranging from $ 250 to 253 per ton) successfully negotiated the price with the lowest bidder and saved $ 290,000 in this deal. —APP
