Pakistani lifter fails to impress

DOHA, Dec 5: Pakistan’s weightlifting hope Shujauddin Malik failed to win a medal for the country in the Asian Games on Tuesday.

He lifted 333kg weight in snatch and jerk (145+188) and finished at sixth place in the 85kg final at the Al-dana Hall.

Kazakhstan’s Vyacheslav Yershov won the gold medal by lifting 377kg weight (175+202) while Yong Lu of China lift 369kgs (167+202) for a silver.

South Korea’s Jong Seon Kim captured the bronze medal by lifting 355kg weight (155+ 200).—APP
