Inzamam delighted

KARACHI, Dec 5: Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq on Tuesday expressed his delight over the reversal of bans against pacers Shoaib Akhter and Muhammad Asif and termed it a huge boost for his team ahead of the next year's World Cup.

“It is a big boost for the team and their comeback would strengthen our bowling attack. We our very happy to know that they are free from all doping charges”, Inzamam told a local TV channel.

The burly Multan-born batsman said that the comeback of the two leading fast bowlers will brighten up his team's chances in the prestigious World Cup in the West Indies next year.

Inzy added that Pakistan will be more confident of success on January’s tough tour to South Africa after the return of the two fast bowlers in the line-up.“ South African venues favour fast bowlers and inclusion of Shoaib and Asif would be good for the vital tour,” he said.

Pakistan will play three Test matches and five ODIs during the South Africa's tour starting from January 3, 2007. —Agencies
