‘I wanted fresh dope tests under WADA rules’


LAHORE, Dec 5: Dr. Danish Zaheer, a key member of the PCB appellate tribunal which overturned the doping bans on fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif on Tuesday, he had suggested fresh dope tests for the two players under WADA procedure before announcing the decision.

Dr Danish, a world renowned Sports Medicine specialist and the vice president of Asian Federation of Sports Medicine, in an exclusive interview to Voice of America from Brunei Darussalam, said: "In my view the entire proceedings prior to this Appellate Tribunal’s cognizance of the issue should be set aside and the PCB should immediately conduct fresh tests.”—Agencies
