JWP backs BNP’s call for strike

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Dec 5: The Jamhoori Watan Party has supported a call given by the Balochistan National Party (Mengal) for observing black day on Thursday in protest against President Musharraf’s visit to Quetta.

In a statement issued by the central secretariat here on Tuesday, it said the protest was aimed at exposing the government’s excesses against the Baloch.

The statement condemned arrests of leaders of the BNP-M, National Party, Baloch National Movement and JWP in Quetta and Karachi.

It alleged that the province was facing worst oppression in five decades.

The JWP appealed to the people to observe the black day and express solidarity with the struggle against oppressive policies of the government.
