ISLAMABAD/HYDERABAD: Dec 4: Federal Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi, has termed Pakistan Muslim League president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s talks with ulema on the Women’s Protection Act illogical, saying that the PML’s politics was beyond his comprehension.
Talking to reporters on Monday, the minister said there was no reason for holding talks with ulema on the issue as the bill had already become an act.
He said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s protest against the talks was justified and he backed it. He said that the PML president should not have held the talks.
Responding to a question, he said the PML-N and the PPP didn’t have candidates for half of the constituencies for the upcoming elections. He criticised the PML-N and chief of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Imran Khan. He said Mianwali District Nazim Malik Amantullah would contest the next elections against Mr Khan.—Online
