Fertiliser dealers warned
HYDERABAD, Dec 4: The Sindh Agriculture Department on Monday advised the growers to send their complaints regarding black-marketing, profiteering and hoarding of fertilisers, particularly the DAP, to the District Coordination Officers concerned for immediate action.
A spokesman for the department said here on Monday that the federal government had announced a subsidy of Rs250 on each bag of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), Potassium Sulphate (SOP), Potassium Chloride (MOP) and Triple-Super Phosphate (TSP).
Moreover, in order to encourage balanced use of fertilisers and further to increase the agriculture production, there was a subsidy of Rs125 and Rs257 on Nitrophos (NP) and Mono-Ammonium Phosphate (MAP), respectively. The fertiliser dealers and shopkeepers have also been asked to display price lists.
The Sindh Agriculture Secretary, during a meeting, had expressed concern over black-marketing and hoarding of fertilizers by unscrupulous dealers and traders who were not passing the benefit of subsidised fertiliser to growers.—APP
