Jeweller robbed of over 8kg gold

LAHORE, Dec 2: Four robbers deprived a jeweller of over 8kg gold worth Rs10 million in the Shadman area on Saturday evening. Four armed men stormed into Nabeel Jewellers at Shadman Market at around 5pm, held all present in the shop at gunpoint and took away over 8kg gold.

Police officials however claimed that initial interrogation suggested that the dacoits had taken away only 5kg gold.

The police have registered a case. Later jewellers and traders of the market gathered outside the shop and held a demonstration against the police. They demanded early arrest of the robbers.

ARREST: Faisal Town investigation police claimed on Saturday to have arrested three members of an inter-provincial gang of dacoits and seized valuables besides illegal weapons from their possession.

A special team, headed by the Garden Town circle ASP and Faisal Town in-charge investigation, nabbed Pervez, alias Agga, Irfan, alias Bhagooti and Razia Bibi of Pervez, alias Agga dacoit gang, from Akbar Chowk.

The police seized cash and jewellery worth Rs100,000, a car besides illegal weapons from them.

The accused used to hire cars on rent, visit different cities along with the woman and snatch cash and valuables from women at gunpoint.
