Police claim arresting 14 outlaws


ATTOCK, Dec 1: Pindigheb police arrested 14 outlaws including eight partners of a proclaimed offender and six members of a robber-gang. According to the police, on the tip-off that proclaimed offender Sher Fazal was present in the house of his brother-in- law Ghulam Jilani at village Jahli, the DPO Attock constituted a police raiding team, which, with the help of the elite force, raided the house to arrest the fugitive.

On seeing police, with the help of 10 other persons, Sher Fazal started indiscriminate firing on the police team to avoid arrest.

After a brief encounter, the said outlaw with his brother-in-law fled the scene, however, police arrested eight accused including Nawaz Khan, Fazaldad, Gullbaz, Haji Mohammad Arshad, Nazir Azam, Sher Mohammad, Mohammad Islam and Mohammad Ashraf.

Meanwhile, police arrested six armed persons who were allegedly trying to loot vehicles near Burhan village on the GT road.

The accused were identified as Waseem Khan, Rehmat, Asadullah, Samiullah, Mohammad Sabir and Mohammad Shehzad.

Police impounded their car (LEB-1072) and registered a case against the accused.

STRANGULATED: The body of a taxi driver, strangulated by some unknown persons, was found under a bridge at Kari Moorta road in the jurisdiction of Fatehjhang police station.

Police said that some unknown persons had hired the taxi of Shehzad Ahmed from Bakra Mandi taxi stand, Rawalpindi, few days back and killed him on the way.

MAN KILLED: A young boy Owais son of Shaukat Mehmood, resident of Kamra, died during a road accident.

He was on the way to Qutba when his motorcycle collided with a wall. As a result he sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the local hospital where he died.—Correspondent
