KARACHI, Dec 1: The Sindh High Court on Friday granted bail to two brothers of alleged gangsters Arshad Pappu in a bus robbery and arson case. Sher Mohammad and Yasir Arafat with Arshad Pappu are charged with looting passengers of a Turbat-bound bus and later setting the bus to fire in 2004 in Jehanabad.

Their counsel M Ilyas Khan and Mohammad Farooq contended that there were contradictions in the statement of witnesses and the case required further inquiry. Besides, applicants are detained in jail since more than a year but even charge has not been framed against them.

SHC’s single bench, comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim, observed that the case needed further inquiry and in granted bail to applicants on a surety of Rs100,000.—PPI
