SUKKUR, Nov 30: The secretary general of the Sindh chapter of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, has said that women of the country have become insecure following the passage of women’s rights bill.
He was talking to teachers and students of the Mehran Model School in Pano Akil on Thursday.
He was a accompanied by Balochistan Minister Faiz Mohammad Sherani, Ghulamullah Halejvi.
He said that the women were expressing their pleasure over the passage of women rights bill in parliament, but they had become unsafe due to the bill and had lost their sense of security.
Terming the government responsible for the tribal feuds in Sindh, Dr Soomro said that it had failed miserably to control disputes while if it were sincere enough with the people of Sindh, it would have controlled the feuds between different tribes.
Criticising the USA for terming Muslims terrorists, he said the USA was the biggest terrorist and was responsible for the large-scale genocide of Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine.
PARWANI: Sindh Chief Minister’s Advisor on Minority Affairs Kishan Chand Parwani has said that the coming general elections will be held in free and fair manner and the power will be handed over to the winning party.
He said this while inaugurating ‘The City School’ in Pano Akil on Thursday.
He said that there should be no doubt about the holding of free and fair elections as the government was committed to it.
He said that the government was giving great importance to development of the education sector and all-out efforts were being taken to impart quality education to all.
He said that he would talk to the Sindh IG police to bring an end to the feuds in the province.
