HYDERABAD, Nov 30: Eminent scholars on Wednesday paid tribute to late Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi for his immense services to the cause of Sindhi, Persian and Urdu literature, history and archaeology.

They were speaking at Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi literary seminar here on Wednesday.

The seminar was organized by the Urdu department of the University of Sindh.

The scholars said that late Rashdi was not only a great historian but he had also devoted his entire life for the promotion of Sindhi, Persian and Urdu literature. They said that he was also instrumental in founding literary organisations for the promotion of literature and Sindhi language.

Sindh University vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio, Dr Javed Iqbal, Professor Ateeq Ahmed Jilani, Professor Habib Arshad, Hussain Samdani and Dr Saleem Malik spoke on the occasion.
