Iran invited to invest in construction sector

LAHORE, Nov 30: Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, Jahangir Khan Tareen on Thursday said Iranian companies should benefit from the opportunities in the fast-growing construction sector in Pakistan.

Talking to Iranian Industries Minister, Alireza Tahmasebi, who called on him here, Tareen appreciated his offer of Iranian investment in Pakistan's booming automobile sector.

“We will facilitate all the interested Iranian firms in this regard,” Tareen said.

He said the government had recently developed an auto policy for the promotion of this sector. The car production, which presently stood at 200,000 units, was expected to touch the 500,000 units mark in a couple of years.

Tareen said that the Iranian companies could also invest in sectors like textile etc. —APP
