Four-point lead for Pakistan

LAHORE, Nov 29: Pakistan’s Punjab took a four-point lead over their Indian counterparts on first day of three-day golf team's championship at the Lahore Gymkhana on Wednesday.

Pakistan’s Punjab took the 5-1 lead due to victories by pairs of M. Safdar-Aadil Jehangir, Amir Mehmood-Tariq Ali Chaudhry, Shahid Khan-Shakeel Ahmed, Shafiq Bhatti-Dr Zahid A. Khan, Jamil Khalid-Javed A. Khan.

The only win for Indian Punjab came through the pair of H. S. Kang and B. S. Ghumman.

The delegates of the two countries also played a match on individual stroke play basis.

Jaskirat Grewal sparkled among the delegates with gross score of 78.

Rupinder Singh won second position while Imtiaz A. Pervez grabbed third spot.
