FAISALABAD, Nov 29: The governing body of the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has rejected a proposal to construct a high rise on Susan Road, Madina Town, while FDA officers have been empowered to seal properties to discourage encroachments and illegal constructions in various schemes.
This was decided in the 73rd Governing Body meeting of the FDA held here on Wednesday. City District Nazim/FDA chairman Rana Zahid Tauseef chaired the meeting, which was attended by Lyallpur Town nazim Rana Zahid Mehmood, Iqbal Town nazim Chaudhry Sajjad Haidar Cheema, Jaranwala Town nazim Akram Chaudhry, FDA Director-General Raja Safdar and representatives of finance, housing and P&D departments of the Punjab government.
Rana Zahid Tauseef said that the FDA would identify the roads for high rises. However, NOCs from WASA, Wapda, Sui Gas and other departments will be a prerequisite for their construction, he said.
The FDA chairman briefed the meeting on FDA City and said that plan for the construction of a Water Theme Park in Kaleem Shaheed Park would be presented in the next meeting of the governing body.
A committee was also constituted to recover arrears from the allotees of a four-marla scheme in Madina Town. The committee, however, allowed payment of dues along with surcharge up to Dec 31, 2007.
The governing body also allowed installation of a close-circuit TV camera at one-window operation counter to regularly monitor its performance.—APP
