KARACHI, Nov 29: The additional district and sessions judge, West, on Wednesday sentenced a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to a 10-year term.
Accused Rafique Chandio was prosecuted for his involvement in the killing of five workers of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement during violence in Pak Colony on Jan 4, 1993.
Naveed, Javed, Saeed Piyaz Wala, Muzaffar and Javed Tony were killed and Jameel, Abdus Sattar, Sabir, Zahiruddin Babar and Zahid were injured in the violence.
Eight Muttahida workers, including Naeem Khan alias Pawwa, Nadem alias Chota, Riaz alias Papa and Ijaz, have been declared absconder in the case.
