KARACHI, Nov 29: The chief controller of Karachi Building Control Authority, Mumtazur Rehman, on Wednesday said every citizen had responsibility to save the city from environmental pollution.
Addressing a public meeting at KBCA building, he called upon the masses to play their vital role in halting emergence of illegal constructions in their surroundings by extending cooperation to the KBCA. He issued directives to the building controllers of all 18 towns to raze illegal constructions without any delay.
The chief controller also listened public complaints and issued immediate directives to solve their problems.
He issued orders for removal of a cellular phone antenna tower, installed on rooftop of a house in Block-17 of F.B` Area, Gulberg Town.
On some complaints, he directed the concerned officials for taking measures against illegally-constructed Hajrah Building on Shershah Road, Chakiwara. He asked the officials to issue notices after physical inspection of illegal construction of third and forth floors on plot numbers III-7/3, 5C-3/25 and 5C-3/26 in Nazimabad.
On a request of an old lady, the allottee of a flat in Moon Avenue project in Surjani Town, Mumtazur Rehman directed the concerned officer to help her in provision of her flat or recovery of amount from Standard Builders.
Earlier, a demolition team under supervision of deputy assistant controllers razed illegal constructions of third floor at plot no. III-F, 16/9, constructions built at mandatory open area on plot no III-B, 14/9 and illegal constructions at plot no. I-B, 7/1 in Nazimabad.—PPI
