KARACHI, Nov 29: A record cargo volume of 0.111 million tons including 0.080m tons of import and 0.031m tons of export cargo was handled at Port Qasim on Tuesday.

Berthing activity was slow as only three ships carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil were accommodated berths, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Berth occupancy maintained at 70 per cent as seven ships, Sealand Voyager, CSAV Ningbo, Annie Sierra, Nord Jupiter, Rose Anne, Al-Maqwa and Capt. George-L, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, seeds, chemicals, diesel oil and iron ore.
