MIRPURKHAS: Power breakdown in Mirpurkhas


MIRPURKHAS, Nov 28: Several areas of the Mirpurkhas city experienced a power breakdown on Tuesday, causing hardship to people.

The power supply from seven feeders, including the Satellite town, Mehmoodabad and Hirabad, and from three Scarp feeders, was suspended in the morning.

Business activities and water supply were affected due the power outage.

The affected areas are: Satellite town, Panhwar colony, Scheme-II, Jarwari Shakh, Lalchandabad, Gharibabad, Adam town, Tourabad, Dholanabad, Jamnadas colony, Rajar colony, Pak colony, New town, Shahi Bazaar, Khisakpura and Sir Syed road.

Operations at hospitals were postponed and sewerage pumping stations of the TMA remained closed.

Small industries also faced power outage.

An official of the grid station said that the fault was being rectified and the power supply would be restored by 6pm.

RAID: Police on Tuesday conducted a raid on a liquor factory in Gulshan-i-Suleman and arrested a man.

Police also arrested Mushtaq Ahmed, seizing over 200 bottles of whiskey and other goods. A case was lodged at the Town police against the accused.—BoC
