Man killed by robbers

RAWALPINDI, Nov 27: Two persons including a prisoner died, while a body was found here on Monday. The police said a gang of robbers entered the house of Malik Nazeer Ahmed at Dehri Hassanabad in the wee hours of Monday.

Hearing their footsteps, Mr Ahmed woke up and overpowered one of the culprits.

Realising that their accomplice had been held, the robbers opened fire on Nazeer Ahmed who suffered critical bullet wounds and died on the spot.

The attackers collected cash and escaped in a car parked outside the house.

Malik Rab Nawaz, a prisoner in Adiala Jail, died of what the jail authorities claimed was a heart attack.

Nawaz, a convict in a murder case registered with Golra police station, was shifted to DHQ hospital Rawalpindi on Monday after he suffered cardiac arrest. Later, he died in the hospital.

The Civil Lines police found the body of a man lying in a nullah at Gulistan Colony.

The deceased was identified by the police as Fahim Anjum aged 21.

The body was shifted to the DHQ hospital for autopsy.
