KARACHI, Nov 27: College teachers performing invigilation duties would now receive a double of what they were paid last time as remuneration, said a communication of the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, on Monday.
According to BIE secretary, the new remuneration against invigilation assignments, which was recommended by the board’s finance committee, has been approved by the board and its controlling authority, and as such rate of remuneration would be enhanced from Rs150 to Rs300 per sitting, with effect from the annual examination, 2006 held some months back.
The new enhancement will be applicable in the cases of those who are appointed only as laid down in the board’s calendar (Volume III), 1986 edition. The rule says that the centre superintendent shall, when required appoint invigilators for his centre from among responsible and reliable senior teachers (after getting list approved by the controller) to work as invigilator.
