KARACHI: ‘Orangi traffic problems to be solved’

KARACHI, Nov 27: The problem of traffic jams would be overcome in Orangi Town on a permanent basis. This was stated by the town’s naib nazim Shahid Bashir on Monday. He further stated that with the completion of work on construction of roads, the residents of Orangi would heave a sigh of relief as it would help resolve the traffic problem.

The city government’s ongoing fumigation drive continued in various towns of the metropolis and on Monday all UCs of the Gulshan Town were fumigated with the help of 45 vehicles.

Nazim Baldia Town has directed all UC Nazims and general councillors to monitor pace of uplift work in their respective areas.

He also reviewed work to improve water and sewerage system in UC-5 and directed the authorities concerned to speedup the pace of work.

Jamshed Town Nazim Arif Ajakya inspected the ongoing cleanliness drive in his town. He assured the residence that the TMA would continue this drive.

The Malir TMA would set up a tennis court and sports ground in the Government Girls Commerce College, Malir. Nazim Malir Town Ansar Shaikh said this while speaking at a ceremony at the college premises on Monday.

He said besides uplift work, steps were being taken for improving infrastructure of government schools and colleges.
