11 killed as bus plunges into canal

DG KHAN, Nov 26: Eleven people, including four children and a woman, were killed and six others went missing when a Taunsa-bound wagon fell into the Chashma Right Bank Canal, 70km off here, on Sunday.

According to reports reaching here, the wagon, carrying 25 passengers, was coming from Phuglo, a tribal area tehsil. When the wagon reached near Turkwala at 9:30am, its front axle broke and it plunged into the canal.

Eleven bodies were recovered from the canal by local people, helped by Taunsa administration.

Ten of the recovered bodies were identified as of van driver Mohammed Musa, Haji Meray Jalalani, Chakar Khan, his wife Jadou Mai, Hafeezullah, Pathani Mai, Abdul Rehman, Mehr Bakhsh, Sanaullah, 6, and Usmatullah, 5.
