WPB to be implemented: Durrani

OKARA, Nov 26: Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani asserted on Sunday that the government had done nothing un-Islamic by getting the Women Protection Bill approved from the National Assembly and would ensure its implementation throughout the country.

Speaking at a press conference here, he lashed out at what he called “politics of resignations” and warned that those opting for it would have no place in parliament. And the government was contacting the political parties for the cause of a flourishing political system and not for withdrawal of resignations, he added.

Later, speaking at the President’s Rozgar Scheme at the Punjab Lok Boli Mela held at Gogera, he gave out that loans would be extended to the unemployed people from 18 to 40 years of age to help them set up their own businesses.

He said the NBP would extend loans to two million unemployed people during the next five years. The application forms of the scheme were available at all the NBP branches, on the Internet and its photocopy would also be accepted, Durrani said. — Correspondent
