KARACHI: First Haj flight seen off

KARACHI, Nov 25: The Haj operation of the Pakistan International Airline began on Saturday when the first Haj flight left in the small hours with 205 pilgrims on board.

The national flag carrier will operate 354 flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta to take 128,000 intending Hajis to Saudi Arabia. The pre-Haj operation will complete on December 25.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad saw off the first Haj flight. State Minister for Religious Affairs, Dr Amer Liaquat Hussain, Chief Minister’s Adviser on Home Affairs, Waseem Akhtar, and others were also present. The pre-Haj operation entails 104 flights from Karachi for 18,225 pilgrims.
