ROME, Nov 25: A plan for Pope Benedict to visit Istanbul’s Blue Mosque is ‘under consideration’ by the Vatican and Turkish authorities in the last days before his Nov 28-Dec 1 trip to Turkey, the Vatican said on Friday.
The pope’s spokesman Federico Lombardi confirmed rumours that the pontiff is considering adding the mosque to his itinerary in recognition of Turkey's majority religion.—AFP
