PESHAWAR: Hydel profit to be spent on public ‘welfare’


PESHAWAR, Nov 23: Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that the net hydel profit to be given to the province as a result of the arbitration commission's decision would be spent on the education and medical treatment of deserving people.

He stated this while chairing a meeting at the Frontier House here on Thursday. Chief secretary Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, special secretary to chief minister Asif Khan, administrative secretaries of finance and law and others attended the meeting.

Mr Durrani said the commission's decision reflected sincerity of its members.

He said the net profit amounting to Rs110 billion would bring remarkable change in the life of the poor people of the province.—Correspondent
