Port Qasim

KARACHI, Nov 23: Three ships to load and offload containers and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy rose to 80 per cent as nine ships, Sealand Independence, Bavaria Express, Makran, Tiwai Maru, Manyas-I, Matina, Warbah, Ginga Saker and Lady Jasmine, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, cement, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 61,969 tons comprising 36,182 tons of import cargo and 25,787 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as Matina, Lady Jasmine, Warbah and Sealand Independence left the port while Bavaria Express was due to depart.
