Unseating of MNA suspended

ISLAMABAD, Nov 22: The Supreme Court on Wednesday suspended unseating of a ruling party MNA Saima Akhtar Bharwana and allowed her to attend assembly sessions till final disposal of her appeal.

On a challenge by her rival Sahibzada Nazeer Sultan, an election tribunal of the Lahore High Court had, on 3rd of the current month, declared her election null and void and ordered fresh polling in NA-90 Jhang.

On Wednesday a three-member bench took up the appeal of Saima Bharwana and after preliminary hearing, suspended the order of the tribunal till a final decision on it.
