Train derails after hitting trolley

ATTOCK, Nov 21: The engine and a bogie of Rawalpindi-bound Bilal Express derailed after colliding with a tractor trolley at an unmanned railway crossing near Domail Railway Station on Tuesday evening, causing suspension of railway traffic on Kundian-Attock section, sources said.

According to sources, Bilal Express was on way to Rawalpindi via Attock from Multan when the collision took place some 55km away from here.

When contacted, Attock Station Master Malik Ejaz confirmed the incident that took place at about 6:30pm. He said on receiving information, relief trains from Kundain and Rawalpindi railway stations had been dispatched to the area for rescue operation. However, no loss of human life was reported in the incident, he said.

He said the Karachi bound 20-Down Khushal express was also affected due to the derailment, and was stopped at the Attock Railway Station till the clearance of track.
