NAWABSHAH, Nov 21: The father and the uncle of Rasool Bux Brohi have requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan to intervene and provide protection to them against Aslam Chaudhry of the Lyari Task Force, the District Police Officer of Jamshoro Pir Farid Jan Sarhandi and Pir Niaz Mohammad Shah who were forcing them to stay away from the case relating to Rasool Barohi’s killing.
At a press conference here on Tuesday. Ismail Brohi, father of deceased Rasool Bux along with Ghulam Hussain, uncle of the deceased, who was allegedly killed in an encounter with the Lyari Task Force, said that he was in the Chatta village, Hub chowki, and 10 days ago, Niaz Mohammad Shah, younger brother of their spiritual head, came along with an armed group of five to six people.
He said that Niaz Mohammad Shah forced them to withdraw from the case and go for settlement. His request, however, was rejected.
He alleged that Siddiq Brohi, his nephew and son-in-law and the main witness in the case, was kidnapped by Jamshoro DPO Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was immediately informed of the incident.
He said that Siddiq was missing since many days and he was also forced to change his prior statement after which he submitted an affidavit along with amended statement in the court of district and sessions Judge, Nawabshah.
They said that they were unaware of Siddiq's whereabouts and apprehended his death at the hands of police.
They demanded of the Chief Justic of the Supreme Court to take notice of the highhandedness of former SP Chaudhry Aslam, DPO Farid Jan Sarhandi and Niaz Mohammad Shah and provide them protection.
Meanwhile, the district and sessions Judge, Nawabshah, adjourned the hearing on bail applications moved by the counsel of three accused in Rasool Bux Brohi murder case, here on Tuesday.
They included DSP Irfan Bahadur and Inspector Syed Safdar Shah and SP Aslam Chaudhry.
While hearing on application of Chaudhry Aslam, DSP Irfan Bahadur and Inspector Syed Safdar Shah was adjourned till December 9, the court fixed November 29 for orders on bail application of Inspector Baharuddin Babar.
In another development the counsel for complainant, Syed Nasir Shah, told Dawn that the district and sessions judge, Nawabshah, had issued a notice to District Police Officer Jamshoro, Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi, to appear in court on December 9, and file his comments after Ismail Brohi, father of deceased Rasool Bux Brohi, filed an application in the court on Tuesday stating that Siddiq Brohi, the main witness in the case, was kidnapped by Jamshoro DPO and was forced to change his statement through an affidavit.
