LAHORE, Nov 19: Punjab PPP President Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the new election will be the best opportunity for his party to regain the control of Punjab.

Addressing a party meeting here on Sunday, he said there was no division in the party and all leaders and workers were united under the leadership of Ms Benazir Bhutto.

He said if the Lahore organisation won election in the provincial capital, he could assure everyone that he would sweep the election all over Punjab. He said if the rulers had notes, the PPP had a huge vote bank to challenge them.

Qureshi promised that he would activate the party and give a much bigger welcome to Ms Bhutto on her return to Pakistan than she was accorded in 1986. —Staff Reporter
