NAWABSHAH, Nov 18: People of Mitha Khan Jokhio village staged a demonstration on Saturday in front of the local press club to protest against Hyderabad Electricity Supply Company (Hesco).

The protesters led by Mohammad Ali Jokhio and Mir Murtaza Jokhio were carrying placards and chanting slogans against the company.

They said that their village had been without power since a month due to fault in the transformer and accused the company of issuing inflated bills and imposing unannounced load-shedding.

The protesters demanded that the Hesco chief take strict action against corrupt officials and direct the authorities to solve their problems.

BOOKED: Police on Saturday booked five people on charges of kidnapping a young girl from Jadoo Juno village.

Meeral Juno stated an FIR that Dost Ali Juno, Sarwar Juno, Dawood Juno and two unknown persons had kidnapped her niece Ms. Shabira, 18, daughter of Abdul Sattar Juno.
