FBI chief calls on Sherpao

ISLAMABAD, Nov 17: Director of the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Robert S Meuller called on Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao at his office here on Friday.

“Being a frontline state in the war against terrorism, Pakistan is fully committed to rooting out this menace from the world,” Sherpao told Mr Meuller, who is currently heading a delegation here.He said that Pakistan had come a long way in fighting the menace of terrorism. “Even before 9/11, the country was a victim of terrorism in one form or the other,” he said.

The 9/11 incident gave a new flip to the menace of terrorism, which emerged as a major challenge to humanity in this century, he said.

“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestation, and it must not be tagged with any particular faith or religion,” asserted Mr Sherpao.

Mr Meuller appreciated Pakistan's leading role in the war against terrorism. He hoped that the relationship between the US and Pakistan would further grow in future.

Minister of State for Interior Zafar Iqbal Warraich, Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah, Additional Interior Secretary Chaudhary Qamar-uz-Zaman, Director-General of National Crisis Management Cell Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal Cheema, Director-General of Federal Investigation Agency Tariq Pervaz were also present at the meeting.
